I'm delighted to have been commissioned by Darlington Sing Community Choir to compose a new choral piece for a special commemorative concert in November 2018, to mark 100 years since the end of the First World War.

The piece examines how the enduring impact of war can ripple through generations and effect everyday lives and communities even in peace time.

You can hear a brief snippet of the track on this link:

I’m delighted to have co-composed a new songbook with my dad (local composer, Andy Jackson) for a Big Sing event on Saturday 14th of October, as part of the biennial world-wide music festival "Voices for Hospices”.

Organised by Durham Scratch Choir, this event is open to singers of all abilities and ages, so come

along for a sing, have a lot of fun, and support this excellent cause.

Here's a fantastic animation video for ‘No Baby to Lull’, my favourite song from Jocasta: A Musical Tragedy, written by Louis Barabbas and sung by, well, me!

The full soundtrack will be released on 5th of May, 2017, and for more info on the project, please visit

I’m currently facilitating in a fantastic, intergenerational song writing project with members of the choir, Hadrian Singers, and the Year 4 class of Haltwhistle Community Campus.

The workshops have been a resounding success, with the group working collaboratively to write their own compositions, reflecting on the unique history and beauty of the area to inform and inspire the lyrical content of the songs.

I’ve composed a four part choir arrangement for one of these songs, Between Two Rivers, which you can hear below:
